April 11, 2015.

On a beautiful Saturday morning the rain held back long enough for the 17 strong U8 squad to play four games in Tullamore.  The local opponents fielded two teams proving to be worthy opponents.

In the first game Buccaneers made the better start, with two early tries with Tullamore clawing back one just before half-time. Buccs continued to build in the second half showing good defensive work and holding their lines comfortably scoring a further two tries.
Score 4-1 to Buccaneers

In the second game Buccs straight from the whistle proved their offence is as good as their defensive with intelligent decision making and great running through the channels, which lead to some impressive team tries. Score 5-2 to Buccaneers.

In the third game not feeling any effects of the previous battles, Buccs showed a combination of play only seen at youth level. Furious mauling, quick feet and playing for each other saw them comfortable winners 6-3.

The fourth and final game saw Tullamore take the upper hand as tired legs eventually gave way to strong replacements winning 5-2.
