BUCCANEERS THIRDS contest the Ard Na Cregg Cup final against Oughterard at Corinthians Park, Galway, on Sunday afternoon with an earlyish 1 p.m. kick off for this enticing decider.

This particular Buccs squad has enjoyed a magnificent season, winning all league fixtures before sustaining their only setback to date when a last kick penalty by Corinthians denied them the league title. However, the Pirates have regrouped and are now focussing on achieving silverware when they tackle newcomers Oughterard in what should be a lively tussle.

Buccs defeated the Co. Galway club when the sides met in the league. There were scores aplenty and little between the sides on that occasion. The westerners have put a good run of results together as they progressed through the Cup rounds so will arrive with plenty of confidence. However, Buccaneers have been consistent and capable all through the league and, if they a little more clinical on Sunday, then they can finish a wonderful season on a high. It will take a focussed, all-round effort from the squad but they have the talent and experience that can make the difference in the final.

So let's see a decent turnout of support for this Buccaneers outfit on Sunday (and note the 1 p.m. kick off time).
