Buccaneers U12 Mini Rugby Blitz Match report Sat 21st Feb 2015

Buccs Under 12’s normally field 2 strong teams but were 3 players short of 2 on Saturday as a few no-shows depleted the ranks, illustrating the importance of the full squad to attend all blitzes. The Buccs fielded 1 team only against Corinthians 2 teams.

Buccs competed well across the field and carried well when in possession but again they fell down in making their tackles and let the visitors in for some easy breakaway tries. In both matches they were able to meet the physical challenge of the Galway lads and with the roll-on roll-off subs they were able to maintain fresh legs through their 2 matches.

In the opening game Buccs narrowly beat Corinthians first team by 4 tries to 3, but the second game saw a reversal of fortune as Corinthians got the better of the Midlanders with some excellent kicking out of defence to put Buccs under pressure, and while Buccs led at half time, they pulled ahead in the second half to secure the win by 5 tries to 3.

Buccs team: Adam Farnan, Sean Kelly, Adam O’ Brien, Lorcan Fallon, Rory Killgariff, Paul Maloney, Shane Boland, John Dillon O’ Shea, Brendan Costello, Donnagh Claffey, Ethan Friel, Cian Mccarthy, Callum Mcknight, Eoin Galvin, Peter Mulvihill.
