CONGRATS JACK CARTY | News | Buccaneers Rugby Football Club Athlone

Congratulations to Jack Carty on winning his first Ireland Senior cap in the victory over Italy in Rome. An unexpectedly tight contest meant that Jack did not enter the fray until the 77th minute but he managed 6 minutes game time and got quite a number of touches in that period. Hopefully, it will be first of many caps for the Barrymore native who has worked diligently in improving all facets of his game from year to year. The hard work and consistent performances have finally reaped due reward for the Connacht fly-half. All at Buccaneers congratulate Jack and wish him well in the Ireland ranks.

Well done too to Niall Murray who again played a significant role in Ireland U-20’s maintaining their Six Nations winning sequence.

Congrats also to Alex and Laura Hayman on the birth of baby boy Tadhg and to Paschal and Brid Dillon on the safe arrival of Conor.

Finally, congrats to Conor Moran on a roundy birthday! Happy 40th!

‘OsKaRs’ news

Rehearsals are now in full swing for Buccaneers ‘OsKaRs’ which takes place in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday, March 30th. Tickets will be on sale later this week from the club for the event. Thanks to all who supported the ‘Blues Brothers’ table quiz last Thursday and the Athlone Little Theatre’s production of “Living Quarters” on Friday. The scrap iron collection continues at the club where a skip is provided. Washing machines are acceptable but fridges and microwaves are NOT! Meanwhile the “Fireside Sessions” with the Henshaw Family and guests continues in The Bounty on Thursday night; this session is growing in popularity with great music and song from 9.30 p.m.
