CONDOLENCES

Heartfelt condolences are extended to the family of Grainne O’Neill who passed away at far too early an age. Grainne was a staunch supporter of Buccs and, I believe, the club’s first ever girl player. May she rest in eternal peace.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congrats to Robbie Henshaw and all at Leinster on their fourth Champions Cup triumph. Not perhaps a game for the purist and certainly not Leinster at their swashbuckling best but, when the chips were down, they continued to battle to eke out as hard a victory as they have ever achieved. Incidentally, a smashing video of Robbie and family making good music with Sharon Shannon in The Three Jolly Pigeons Pub can be checked out on Facebook. A charity CD in aid of South Westmeath Hospice is on the way which is most worthy of your generous support, folks.

DONATIONS SOUGHT FOR VOLUNTEER

Paddy Browne, who played scrumhalf with Buccaneers U-20’s and Seconds in the recent past, is going to Tanzania to volunteer with the charity ‘Olive Branch for Children’. He will be there working with children aged 4 to 13 years for about 6 weeks from June 15th. He will welcome donations of any rugby jerseys/shirts, flat pack footballs, etc. for these under-privileged kids. All support for this worthy cause will be greatly appreciated.
