The much postponed Connacht U-14 League final between Buccaneers and Corinthians didn’t disappoint when it eventually took place last Saturday in the neutral venue of Ballyhaunis, with a thankfully dry and playable pitch. In a game that saw very little between the two sides, it was to be so evenly matched that no winner would emerge on the day with a 5-5 draw being the eventual outcome.

BUCCANEERS and Corinthians will battle it out for the Connacht U-14 League final on Saturday when the teams go head to head at Ballyhaunis, where there will be a 12 noon kick off for this showdown. If the Sharks play to their potential and remain focused and disciplined, then they can take the honours back to Athlone.

Buccaneers and Tuam finally got their chance to go head to head after a number of cancelations, with the home team just coming out on top 5-3 in their Connacht Junior U-13 League fixture. The conditions were testing to say the least at a sodden, wet and breezy Dubarry Park, Athlone, on Saturday. Cracking fare was served up by both side with the midlanders slightly fortunate to come away with the win.
