THANK YOUs re IRELAND U-20s

published:Mar  12

IRELAND U-20’s have enjoyed another winning Six Nations Championship campaign at Dubarry Park and Buccaneers RFC wishes to thank every person and organisation who again helped with the successful staging of these international fixtures in Athlone. The club is particularly grateful to the generous support of ELECTRIC IRELAND. The IRFU’s confidence in the club is also greatly appreciated as is the voluntary efforts of so many of the club’s members with special acknowledgement to Senan Downes, Barry Reid and our club Administrator Geraldine Kenny. The work of the South Westmeath FAS scheme is also a key element as is that of Tom and Paschal and all their crew at The Bounty. Thanks too to Athlone Order of Malta ambulances, Athlone Gardai and the doctors on duty. Thanks again to everyone who assisted and, of course, to all the supporters who came along on both match nights to make them such memorable occasions.

This committee has served the club voluntarily for over 40 years and both Hazel and Lola have been in the frontline through all those decades of their sterling service. They are not thanked often enough for their unstinting efforts and the gesture was definitely warranted.
