Last Friday night, in association with ‘SOFAS & BEDS', an immensely enjoyable function in Dubarry Park celebrated Robbie Henshaw’s rugby career to date and also noted his grandfather Billy’s recent 90th birthday. The evening commenced, following Connacht’s fine victory, with some of the noted BBQ food for which The Bounty is renowned before an appropriately decorated cake was wheeled out for Billy Senior. RTE rugby commentator Michael Corcoran then interviewed Robbie in his own easy style during which Robbie acknowledged the early coaching he received from his father Tony, Micky Donohue, Ronan Bushell and a key group who drove him on. He continues to do his individual training at Dubarry Park and he is champing at the bit to get out on the pitch for Leinster, where he was attracted by a fresh challenge and environment. Ireland and possibly the Lions are targets further on once he gets match fit and he would dearly love to feature against the All Blacks next month.
In association with ‘SOFAS & BEDS’, Buccaneers RFC proudly hosts “A Night with The Henshaws” in The Bounty on this Friday when ROBBIE HENSHAW will be interviewed by RTE Rugby Correspondent MICHAEL CORCORAN on his rapid rise from schoolboy player at the Marist College and on underage Buccaneers teams to winning the PRO12 title with Connacht and being one of Ireland’s stars at the Rugby World Cup. The event begins at 8 p.m. with a BBQ and will be followed by live music by The Henshaw Family. You can expect to see Robbie display his musical prowess here too! Ticket numbers are limited for this event, which promises to be a club night not to be missed, so buy your ticket in advance. Tickets are only €20 each and can be purchased at The Bounty 0906477566 or from the club’s Administrator Geraldine 0861732711 (during office hours).
