FIXTURES w/e December 1st

published:Nov  25

BUCCANEERS next two Ulster Bank League matches are both away from home with a trip to tackle Blackrock College at Stradbrook next Saturday, kick off 2.30 p.m. Rock won at Malone in a high-scoring encounter last weekend and will be boosted by this result. This was only their second victory in the current campaign which began with a commendable away win at Shannon.  Mark Scott-Lennon is their main threat while Rob Keogh is a fine place-kicker. However, if Buccs can play with the panache of last week but be more clinical in this Division 1B encounter, then they can continue their decent record at the south Dublin venue.

FIXTURES w/e November 17th

published:Nov  11

Following a long trip to Cork last weekend, BUCCANEERS U-20s face their lengthiest journey of the season when they head south-east to Waterford to tackle Waterpark in the South-West Conference League Division One on Saturday, kick off 2.30 p.m. Waterpark currently lie second from bottom with a draw their only positive result to date. Buccs should continue their promising start but must guard against complacency as the home side is in dire need of ekeing out a first victory. However, the midlanders should be able to field a reasonably strong squad and, if they come close to repeating last Saturday’s performance, they should prove too strong for Waterpark.

FIXTURES w/e October 19th

BUCCANEERS U-20s make the first of four trips to Cork in this season’s South-West Conference League Division One when they travel to take on Highfield on Saturday. Highfield’s ground is at Woodleigh Park, Model Farm Road, on the city’s Westside. Kick off is scheduled at 2.30 p.m. Buccs have a compact but tidy squad at this grade and they will travel with some confidence following fine wins over Shannon and N.U.I.G/Corinthians. It will be tougher down south but, if these young Pirates can repeat their will to work and positive attitude, they can maintain their promising start to this league.

BUCCANEERS are home to Shannon on Saturday when the clubs duel in the South-West Conference U-20 League Division One at Dubarry Park, Athlone; kick off 2.30 p.m. This will be a tougher test for these young Buccs who may have added options if Ben Carty, Eoghan O’Reilly and Rory Moloney are available for this fixture. With Buccs having six of their ten league games away from home due to the intransigence of the Cork clubs, it is vital that they maximise their return from home matches.
