BUCCS HOME TO CITY OF ARMAGH

Buccaneers take on City of Armagh in a first ever All-Ireland League fixture between the clubs at Dubarry Park on Saturday. Kick off is at 2.30 p.m. Prior to the advent of the AIL and Buccaneers, the clubs did play friendlies up to the early 1990’s. City of Armagh have made impressive progress in recent years capped by promotion to Division 1B last season.

Buccaneers RFC is hosting “A Night at the OsKaRs” in Athlone’s Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday, March 30th next. An information evening relating to the ‘OsKaRs’ takes place in The Bounty on Tuesday next, November 20th at 8 p.m. All who have indicated their interest in taking part in this event are invited to attend as indeed are any newcomers to our version of the ‘OsKaRs’. No acting experience is necessary nor do you have to be a member of the rugby club. So come along and you could be walking on the red carpet at next year’s gala premiere!

DARRAGH MURRAY selected on Ireland U-18 squad

Buccaneers player DARRAGH MURRAY has been selected on the Ireland U-18 rugby squad travelling to Italy next week to play their Italian counterparts. The young Lisbrock, Kiltoom, native captained the Connacht U-18 squad that claimed the recent interprovincial series, defeating Leinster, Munster and Ulster in doing so. This is the promising lock's second season to be selected on this Ireland squad. He also skippered Buccaneers to a Connacht U-17 Plate success at the end of last season.

BUCCS HOME TO OLD WESLEY & MONIVEA ON SATURDAY

Buccaneers are home to Old Wesley in the All-Ireland League on Saturday next. Kick off at Dubarry Park, Athlone, is 2.30 p.m.  Old Wesley, for whom Alan Gaughan is the latest to join the large contingent of ex-Buccaneers in Donnybrook, lie fourth in the league table following a win against City of Armagh and a draw with neighbours Old Belvedere.
