5 YOUNG BUCCS PLAY FOR IRELAND

published:Apr  02   2018

BUCCANEERS had no less than five young players wearing the green of Ireland last week. Colm Reilly and Ryan Lomas were in the Ireland U-19 squad that had mixed results against Japan. Meanwhile, the Athlone club went one better on the Ireland U-18 side with a trio --- Darragh Murray, Liam Winnett and Saul O’Carroll --- all starting in the win over Canada.

Congratulations to the Marist College on their impressive Connacht Schools Junior Cup triumph. Congrats too to Buccs duo Jack Carty and David Heffernan who both reached a century of caps for Connacht although their notable achievement was somewhat dampened by their side’s loss to Gloucester.
